Workshop Description

 

This workshop will focus on the challenges Deaf students face in their advanced literacy development at the middle and secondary levels. An emphasis will be placed on administrative and academic strategies for students who have not acquired basic literacy skills by age 10. Participants will learn the basic principles of student linguistic demands and interpreting-needs assessment, appropriateness of interpreter placement, and formulation of individualized interpreting paradigms.
