Erika Bravo, MS, NIC

President ex-Officio

After 25 years in the field of education, I switched to interpreting.  I love what I do.   It is a great honor to be part of the communication process for people who are Deaf/HH and those who are hearing.  I have a master's degree in Deaf Education and a bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Ed.  I am NIC certified through RID. I have Georgia Educational Interpreting Licensure.  I just worked through t the practicum experience in mental health, working toward Mental Health Interpreter Qualified Credentials from the Alabama department of mental health and realized that it is not a good fit for me.   I feel privileged to work in medical settings, mental health settings, educational K-12 and post-secondary settings, government settings, as a platform interpreter, and through video-remote interpreting as well as video relay interpreting.

In my personal life, I am a wife, mother of 4 teenagers, and 2 adopted dogs. I love to read fiction, watch sci-fi, and imagine life at the beach when COVID is less of a factor in travel.  For relaxing, I take bubble baths and sit in my hammock enjoying the wooded backyard.
