Katie is originally from Florida, but has lived in Georgia for the last 24 years.  She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1991 with a BA in Psychology. During college Katie worked on a research team at Bryce Hospital studying the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). This test is used to test people who are suspected of having mental health or other clinical issues. The team collected data to demonstrate the need for a new updated test. After college she moved to Colorado where she received her interpreting degree from Front Range Community College in 1995.  Katie’s emphasis at FRCC was in the mental health discipline.  After graduating from FRCC, she moved to Georgia and began working as an interpreter.  Katie has been nationally certified since 2010.

Katie currently works as a staff interpreter at the University of Georgia, as well as freelancing. When she’s not interpreting, Katie is busy with her husband, 3 children, and 2 dogs.
